Why I’m Running
Because California’s students deserve leadership that delivers.
I’m running for State Superintendent of Public Instruction to increase trust, strengthen learning, and ensure public education works for every student and every community in California.
California is at a turning point
With the attacks on education by the federal government, families want clarity. Educators want support that makes sense. Communities want honesty about what’s working and what needs to change. Too often, our education system has delivered complexity instead of results.
I’m running because California needs leadership that is focused, accountable, and grounded in the daily reality of classrooms and families—I am an educator and will continue to take practice to meet policy.
I’ve seen what works—and what doesn’t
I’ve spent my career working across classrooms, schools, districts, and state systems. I’ve seen how strong effective leadership and clear priorities can improve outcomes—and how confusion and inaction can hold students back.
When systems are clear
Educators can focus on teaching, families know what to expect, and students benefit from consistency.
When support is timely
Schools improve faster and challenges are addressed before they become crises.
When accountability is honest
Trust grows and improvement becomes possible—without blame or finger-pointing.
