Letter to the Community

Dear HUSD Family,
As the new President of the Board of Trustees, I would like to express my appreciation for the hard work you do on behalf of Hayward Unified School District’s (HUSD) students. During my tenure on the board, I have been privileged to encounter parents, staff members, and teachers whose everyday good will embodies the holiday spirit of giving.
We have endured the many challenges of 2012. However, we know that 2013 will also present us with obstacles. We must face with these obstacles with the same perseverance and hope. If we continue to work together and make the students our priority, then success will be a reality for HUSD.
This school year, HUSD has adopted the 3 R’s for HUSD: Rigor, Responsibility, and Results. I hope you will take a moment to consider a slightly different set of 3 R's over the holiday season as we all roll into the new year: Rejuvenate, Renew and Re-commit.
Finally, on behalf of the Board of Trustees, please cherish the time you spend with family and friends during this holiday season. Looking forward to a successful 2013 for Hayward Unified School District.
